DISTRICT 2-S3 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
TRAINING SCHEDULE FOR 2005

LEADERSHIP TRAINING

The Lions Leadership Forum contains subject matter that is not only aimed at your life as a Lion, but also applies to every facet of your world.  We will be focusing on the “Qualities of a Leader”.

March 19&20

8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Omni Austin Hotel South Park

4140 Governors Row, Austin (Map)

Lions leaders at all levels should be aware that defying the need for leadership training of its most qualified people who have shown leadership potential is the death knell of the organization.  The traditional method of progressive advancement of Lion officers does not guarantee good leadership.  The prospects of continued strong Lion leadership run much higher when there is organized leadership training.

We encourage the attendance of all Club officers, particularly current Presidents. We also welcome any other Club members who are thinking of accepting leadership roles in the future.

CLUB OFFICER TRAINING

This training is aimed at Club Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers and prospective Club leaders; however, everyone is encouraged to attend.  Separate classes will be held simultaneously for Presidents and Vice Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers.

Schedule to be announced

CLUB SUPPORT TEAM TRAINING

This training is specifically designed for Zone Chairs, Region Chairs and the MERLO team, but Club officers and any potential Lion leader is urged to attend.

Schedule to be announced

The Club Support Team is comprised of key members of the District Cabinet including the Zone and Region Chairmen and the MERL Team members.

One of the key positions in Lionism is the Zone Chairman.  The Zone Chairman is a member of the District Governor's Advisory Committee.  By virtue of the Zone Chairman having the most direct contact with the various Lions Clubs and the club officers, he/she becomes a most valuable officer of the Governor.

The Region Chairmen and zone Chairmen have been included in the MERL team in this District.  Hence, additional duties and responsibilities are being assigned to these officers.  I encourage each Zone and Region Chairman to attend this training.

I invite you, regardless of your current position in Lionism, whether you are a new member or a seasoned veteran, to attend a training session for the Club Support Team.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE TRAINING

This training is designed for Club Presidents, Vice Presidents and the entire Club Membership Committee.  These sessions are being taught by the five principals of the District MERLO Team.

Schedule to be announced
