Questions continually arise as to what expenditures may correctly be made from a club’s Activity (“Public”) funds versus Administrative funds.
Lions International now has on its website two documents that should be very helpful:
Use of Funds Policy (Revised 7/11)  http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/common/pdfs/use_funds_policy.pdf
Use of Funds Policy FAQ (Revised 7/11)  http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/common/pdfs/use_funds_policy_faq.pdf

Together, these resources should address most of the common issues that you will encounter.  They can also be located by following the website links from the Member Center: Member Center  >  Resources  >  Publications  >  Legal  (near the bottom, under “Other Policies”)

Effective club meetings are critical to club success. A well-organized meeting results in improved communication and teamwork and increased productivity. Register for the Managing Club Meetings webinar to learn how to make club meetings more effective with proper preparation, the use of facilitation skills, and evaluation and follow-up! Visit the Leadership Development Webinars page for dates/times and links to register, via the link provided below.

Know a fellow Lion that would be interested? Feel free to pass this information along! We hope to have you, and a fellow Lion, participate in one of the three sessions being offered.

CLUB EXCELLENCE PROCESS
Lions—I have now been trained as a facilitator for the Club Excellence Process.  If you feel that your club has lost its focus on what your focus is as a club, or you wish to look at new ideas to update or enhance your club, then let’s look at doing the Club Excellence Process.  I can meet with your club or your board of directors to discuss what benefits can come from this process and what is entailed in the process.  After that meeting, the club has a little homework to do before I return.  On my return, we look at the results found in your homework and set some goals and make some plans to help your club achieve those goals you set.  The first meeting will take an hour and a half to two hours.  The second meeting will take two hours or more, depending on what you want to achieve.  Call me at home—512-515-6447 or on my cell—512-470-5156 or email me at angienick1@austin.rr.com to make arrangements for the process to begin.  There is a form for your president to fill out to send to LCI for materials to be sent to your club.  This is an excellent program and one that can help each club in our district to become bigger and better and better able to serve your community.
